He stood motionless in the living room,
            arms rigidly forty-fived towards the floor,
                           looking like nothing so much as an arrow,
convinced that this attitude was the one that would keep the structure standing.
            First the furniture disappeared, then the pictures.
                     The windows and the doors dematerialized then,
                   the roof and walls evaporated,
      and he just stood there, motionless,
not realizing until it was all gone
        that his home had left him.
